Entry #32

Status: Living in the bookstore until further notice.

If someone asks me, “What is your favourite store in the world?”, I would answer without even pausing:

“THE BOOKSTORE.”

Since young, I would spend hours in the bookstore. No matter which country I visited, I’d want to check out their bookstore. If I pass any walking down the streets, my legs would automatically make their way inside. I love being surrounded by books – it’s like a candy store with so many categories and colours and possibilities. When I was younger, I wondered if I could read all books in a bookstore, and when I realised it was humanly impossible, I found other life goals. As much as I liked going to fashion stores, going to the bookstore was 10x more exciting to me. I even wanted the dUCk stores to look like purple libraries.

You know who hates going into bookstores with me? My family. They love books too (kids are into comics now), but not nearly as much as me. They’d be done with one or two books in hand, and I’m on my 7th adding to the book tower in my arms.

“You won’t finish all of that,” Mr. Pessimist Husband would say to me.

I just reply back, “Shhhhh no talking in the bookstore.”

Of course there’s no such rule, but whatever.

So yeah I much prefer going alone or with my girlfriends. I was browsing one day, when a revelation came to me…
