#42 Part 2: Did I fail my driving test?

Dragged my Gagal bum to JPJ to renew my L license. Who does that?! People renew their real adult license (well, except me, that’s how I got into this fun adventure in the first place…), not their Learner’s license!

Took a number. Sat and waited. My turn, finally.

At the counter, I was given options for renewal. “Would you like to renew 3 months or 6 months?” the officer asked.

With my luck at the driving test, I wanted to say, “Renew setahun je la, I’ll still be taking my driving test.” But I opted for 3 months instead. That’s right – had full faith in myself for the next driving test.

I figured I’d do my next test in 2026. 2025 just wasn’t my year.

So January 2026, nice and early into the year, I soaked in all the positive vibes and breathed fresh new year air all the way to my driving test. Let’s do this, I told myself, as I turned up for my third driving test.

“That way, Ma’am,” the young guy working at the driving school pointed to the tent.

Don’t worry, I know the way, it’s my third, I answered in my heart. In fact, I even know which plastic chair is mine…
