“I notice you don’t wear your wedding ring anymore,” a friend pointed out.

She added, “Everything ok?”

I looked at my fingers. She was right – they were bare and ring-less. I tried to find the right words to answer her, but I was too embarrassed the truth might open a can of worms. So I just went “Oh yeah haaa,” and changed the subject.
